Job Description

A Piping Designer proficient in CADWorx for the oil and gas industry is responsible for creating detailed piping layouts, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Here's an overview of the role
  • 3D Piping Design & Modeling: Utilize CADWorx Plant Professional to develop 3D models of piping systems, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.

  • Isometric Drawings: Generate isometric drawings from P&IDs, facilitating clear communication of design intent.

  • Clash Detection: Perform clash checks to identify and resolve potential conflicts between piping systems and other plant components.

  • Material Specifications: Prepare and review Piping Material Specifications (PMS) and Valve Material Specifications (VMS), ensuring appropriate material selection.

  • Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and other design disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient designs.

  • Documentation: Assist in the preparation of line lists, valve lists, and Bill of Materials, supporting procurement and construction activities.



Requirements

  • Experience: 3–8 years in piping design within the oil and gas sector.

  • Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in CADWorx suite, including CADWorx Plant Professional and CADWorx P&ID.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with international codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, API 570, and ASME Educational Background: Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Additional Tools: Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Autodesk Plant 3D is advantageous.
